Need For Speed Carbon Windows Vista Patch V1.4
Need for Speed Carbon is the fourth release of the Need for Speed series and continues the saga of car races and American-movies-like chases. Carbon continues the story where the previous release, Most Wanted, stopped. Just to make some memory, Most Wanted ended with you taking back your stolen car and driving out of the city of Rockport while the anti-street-racing Sgt. Cross follows up with his pursuit.

At the beginning of Carbon, you are driving your way to Palmont City when Cross suddenly appears in your way and totals your car during the chase. The main location of this game, Palmont City is divided into four major territories, each of which is controlled by a different street-racing group. Each territory is in turn divided into zones, and within each zone, you will find starting points for a wide range of different race events. To get control, you need to win at least two events in the zone. And once you've taken over all the zones in a given territory, you can take on the head of that crew. As you go on extending your control across Palmont City, rival crews will come back and try to re-gain territory just as you took it from them, making you accept their challenge if you want to maintain control.
In general it keeps the good graphics and great selection of cars of the previous versions, though not bringing too many new features to the series. This patch fixes some errors and bugs for the installation of the game in Windows Vista environment.
Its gaming weekend! I went out (which I very rarely do) and got a copy of Need for Speed Carbon and Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition so it comes with both Sim City 4 & Sim City Rush Hour Expansion Pack.
This patch fixes Windows Vista. What starts in the city is settled in the canyons as Need for Speed Carbon immerses you into the. Carbon Patch 1.4.
I've played Sim City 4 quite a few years ago but didn't really give the Rush Hour expansion pack a shot. As for NFS Carbon - I really did not expect much from this version of NFS, somehow the video's/reviews on the web failed to impress me - so I didn't go out on opening day (fight with a kid!) to get a copy this time around. However, I installed the demo a few days ago and kind of liked it - so picked my lazy butt to go get a copy today. I installed NFS Carbon on my Windows Vista RTM machine - the installer ran just fine and installed the game - but the game refused to start. I had to set compatibility mode (by right clicking the NFSC.exe in the installed directory - Select Properties - Select Compatibility tab) to Windows 98 and the game worked just fine!

I was mighty surprised by the game - its a WOW! Its a perfect cross between NFS Underground 2 and NFS Most Wanted. The opening intro's are coool - though I thought was a little better than. But maybe it's not Emmanuelle's fault - The NFS Most Wanted intro's were all about Attitude! NFS Carbon intro's are all about Nostalgia - I almost jumped out of my seat when Cross hits my car from behind!:) The quality of graphics are amazing! Especially the videos, game play isn't all that smooth on my laptop (which has a NVidia Quadro 110m - not a gaming card actually) so its my card thats to be blamed here I guess. Game play is cool - the story line is much much much much better than the pathetic story line of NFS Carbon for the PSP.
The new team building feature is fun so far (you can actually hunt, hire and fire your team mates!!) - I like the game, I would certainly recommend it to all NFS fans. Posted on Sunday, November 26, 2006 12:43 AM.

Ok here are some tips on how to improve your nfs carbon experience on vista. Set compatibility mode on windows xp.
This was already mentioned. Run the game as administrator, you do this by right mouse click on the nfs carbon icon and choose run as administrator 3. Increase your virtual memory as much as double the size of your available memory, you have to do some math here because you have to place some values in MB. Rename the movies folder.though you will really miss the awesome cut scenes. Another reason, is its not adopting well with your widescreen monitor, if this is the case, just download the patch, search google for nfs carbon patch. You can also download the vista codec package.
So these are 6 steps you would like to try, i tried all of them, in the specific order i've listed it here. Hi, Got NFS Carbon and installed it on my windows vista home premium edition and the installation process went on smoothly. But here comes the crazy stuff. When i try to run it, it gives me this error message 'Can not locate the DVD-ROM Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application' Tryed everything from changing the compability to windows 98, Renaming the movie folder etc. I really need your assistance guys. Re: Open the NFS DVD, go the the folder named Cracks and Instruction, and copy the NFS.exe file.
Now right click the NFS icon on your desktop, go to properties, Find target. Then open it, replace the NFS file by pasting the NFS.exe file that you copied from the DVD folder. Close all the windows, refresh your desktop. Now open the game in XP compatible mode if you are using Vista, else leave it as it is. Always run the game as an Administrator. Hope this should fix you problem. For information, I was also receiving 'Insert correct DVD/CD' yada yada - I do NOT have an illegal copy - I have the collectors edition (don't know if this makes any difference) and am running Vista Ultimate.
So for Kev and anyone else with this problem, the solution: 1/ Install v1.4 patch 2/ Set compatability mode to Win XP (SP2) 3/ Rename movie folder (all instructions for above elsewhere in this thread) Unfortunately, this does prevent you from viewing the excellent cut scenes. My response: a complaint email to EA, considering they are failing to provide adequate support for a game that cost me £35.
Hi everyone, There are many bugs reported for this game, mine was that it returned to explorer at certain parts of the map. Here's my config: Vista Home Premium 32bits T7300 NVidia 8600M GS 2Go RAM Like many of you, I tried everything I could find in that kind of forum, but only one worked (sorry for the author, I can't find him back, thanks anyway '^^). I'll explain his way, that was surely over-secure, but I didn't want to spend more time re-installing this game, here it is: -Set compatibility of ANYTHING YOU CAN (installer and exe.) to Windows 2000 (I tried the other versions, it didn't work). Before launching ANY installer and exe, as well as after having the game installed, restart your computer. That means you'll have your computer restarted 3 times: after having switched compatibility of anything you can on your DVD or ISO, after having the game installed, and after having switched compatibility of anything you can in your installation folder. Well, 5 times if you install a patch (compatibility of the installer then of the.exe), and 6 times if you add a crack because we don't want to insert the DVD everytime, how lazy are we. Since then, everything works perfectly. A few tips thought: -some keys can not be changed and are hidden in the menu, generating conflicts if you assignate a command over them -the config you choose on the menu while playing overwhelm the config in the main menu; so since I lowered everything in the playing menu (to investigate the source of the initial bug), the config I asked in the main menu was always erased when quitting the game, so I had to remake it everytime I launched it.
It's just 30 seconds everytime, but it made me mad '- -if you use a key generator (hey, I didn't say I did '^^), be aware that the key you enter is saved in your savefile, what means if you enter another key while re-installing, you won't be able to play your previously saved game. This key is printed on the first line of your savefile if you open it through notepad. I tried to change the key directly on the savefile but the saved game was still impossible to open; I am not skilled enough to explain you why. Last thing: if you want to collect all the cards, do not launch the last event, because since then my territory was never contested ever again. And try to collect cars by type to fullfill your garage, with the cheapest cars, otherwise you'll lose a lot of precious money and precious cars.
Now, one question: with a cracked version, impossible to play online. That was not a surprise, however if there's a solution, feel free to explain! Hi everybody my pc configration 2.8 ghz 776 ram memory ati radeon 9550 agp(boring graphic card) windows vista home basic Need for speed carbon before just after logo says crashhh and i downloaded a patch 1.4 and compatibility set to 98/me and need for speed now works.I have false need for speed cannot play to internet but before you do the patch you have to delete crack or to restore original file of need for speed. The patch can be downloaded for any problem endrit71@hotmail.com.

Need For Speed Carbon Windows 7 Patch
EC: 5520 Game won't launch at all. I have Vista, a well speced computer, 4gb ram, etc.
Need For Speed Carbon Windows 7 Issues
Have tried renaming the movies folder, running in all compatibility modes, installing the patches, running as admin, switching off the virus program and firewall. NEVER BUY EA. Even if they make the best game in the world, this is the 3rd game in a row that I have had issues with from EA.
Has similar issues with Crysis when it first came out and some other game I can't even remember. Aside from the virus like installations EA inflicts on you even if you look at their logo somewhere. So, anyone know about error code 5520? What can I do, aside from getting a flamethrower and taking out a whole bunch of staff in an EA office somewhere? Ok this is the answer to y the game crashes in 21st street. I had that problem but i fixed it. The nfsc.exe must be ran as winxp sp2.
Windows
In the compatibility mode. It must be patched to 1.4 correctly. As in the game (bought in North America or UK) so the easiest thing to do if u dont know (just like me as i dont know what im doing) install both patches as they overwrite files.
Eg u install NA patch and run the game. Try it c if it crashes. If yes install the UK patch.
Now it will work if u tried it correctly my game is collector's edition cd. Bought in australia so it was difficult to track where it was from. And now i had the problem of web gaming. Go to download the patch.
Please could someone help me Out. I am unable to use the cheats on NFS Carbon.
Some of them work but only once, What i need is to unlock all cars. Or a lot of cash. I remember a few months ago i found a web site where you could download a File of somenes Fully Packed Profile, witch the file name only needed to change the name of the folder to the same profile name on NFS Carbon. But i am unable to find the link to this site. Could someone pleae help me out? PS: Sorry for the bad English. I installed nfs carbon, when i try to run it, it gives me this error message 'Can not locate the DVD-ROM Please insert the correct DVD-ROM, select OK and restart application' Please help.
I really need your assistance guys. I tried this solution Re: Open the NFS DVD, go the the folder named Cracks and Instruction, and copy the NFS.exe file. Always run the game as an Administrator. Hope this should fix you problem, but still show problem. It says the memroy could not be read.
